Football Recap: Mission Viejo Piles Up the Points Against Los Alamitos + How To Watch

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mission Viejo). They breezed past the Los Alamitos Griffins to the tune of 76-49 on Thursday. The Diablos have beaten the Griffins the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Griffins has come to flipping the script.

Mission Viejo got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Luke Fahey out in front who threw for 569 yards and five touchdowns while completing 77.4% of his passes, and also rushed for 42 yards and one score. With that strong performance, Fahey is now averaging an impressive 310.8 passing yards per game. Mission Viejo's leading receiver Jack Junker was Fahey's top target yet again, picking up 299 receiving yards and three TDs.

Mission Viejo didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jordan Hicks and Sawyer Thomson. Another thorn in Los Alamitos' side was Brady Bowman, who picked up a sack, made 14 total tackles, and defended two passes.

Mission Viejo's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Los Alamitos, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-2.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Mission Viejo will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Mater Dei at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. The Diablos' defense better be ready for this one: the Monarchs have averaged an impressive 26.2 points per game this season. As for Los Alamitos, they will welcome Yorba Linda at 7:00 p.m. on the 7th. The Griffins will need to watch out since the Mustangs have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games.
