Volleyball Recap: Green River Wins High-Profile Match Against Evanston

Green River faced Evanston in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Wolves put the hurt on the Devils with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Devils: they've now won five in a row.

While Green River won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-23, 25-14.

Green River found their leader in sophomore Brookelyn Phillips, who had 19 digs and three assists. Phillips has been hot, having posted 16 or more digs the last six times she's played.

Green River's win bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Evanston, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 16-14.
