Softball Recap: Roma's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Roma never got on the board in their matchup last Tuesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Cigarroa on Friday. They blew past the Toros 14-4. With that victory, the Gladiators brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Kelsey Garza was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Madelyn Garcia, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.

The win snapped Roma's losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 2-16 record. As for Cigarroa, they dropped their record down to 5-14 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Roma will welcome Mission at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Gladiators surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cigarroa, they will be playing at home against Mission Veterans Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
