California School for the Deaf-Riverside waltzed into their contest on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Model Secondary School for the Deaf Eagles 43-9. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Cubs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 763rd in California, while the Eagles are ranked 245th in District of Columbia).

California School for the Deaf-Riverside has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points per game. As for Model Secondary School for the Deaf, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
