While Devine's win against Pearsall wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warhorses / Arabians skirted past the Mavericks 3-1. The Warhorses / Arabians haven't had any issues with the Mavericks recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Rudy Costilla spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Gerardo Villasenor was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Devine's win bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Pearsall, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-18 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Devine is set to square off against their familiar foe Floresville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Pearsall will face off against rival Somerset at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
