Volleyball Recap: Luther Prep's Undefeated Season over After Five Games

Luther Prep was the 2-1 winner over Mount Horeb when they last played one another on Saturday, but their luck changed this time around. The Phoenix took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings on Saturday. The loss put an end to the Phoenix's undefeated start to the season.

Their offense was headlined by Emma Neyhart and Lorelei Candler, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Lydia Vasold and her 12 assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Having lost for the first time this season, Luther Prep fell to 4-1. As for Mount Horeb, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Luther Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Heritage Christian at 6:45 p.m. on September 16. As for Mount Horeb, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on McFarland at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The contest will give the Vikings their first taste of in-conference action this season.
