Recap: Blackville-Hilda Fighting Hawks vs. McCormick Chiefs
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Blackville-Hilda Fighting Hawks walked away with it. They claimed a resounding 47-20 victory over McCormick at home. Considering Blackville-Hilda has won six matchups by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Blackville-Hilda to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaquel Holman, who rushed for 140 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry, and also picked up 38 receiving yards. Holman was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 50 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Tamari (td) daniels, who gained 124 total yards and two touchdowns.
Blackville-Hilda's victory was their seventh straight at home , which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 44.0 points per game. As for McCormick, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
Blackville-Hilda will take on Wagener-Salley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. McCormick does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
