Softball Recap: Letcher County Central Drops Highest Score of Season Against Breathitt County

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Letcher County Central). They never let the Breathitt County Bobcats get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Kelsey Bentley was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Bentley was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Letcher County Central got a big performance out of Addison Collier, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Those two stolen bases gave Collier a new career-high. Amirah Cook was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

The victory got Letcher County Central back to even at 8-8. As for Breathitt County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Letcher County Central will challenge Belfry at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Breathitt County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cordia at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
