Basketball Recap: Shawnee Mission West Takes a Loss

Shawnee Mission West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a blow against the Shawnee Mission Northwest Cougars, falling 81-49. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while the Cougars are ranked first).

Shawnee Mission West's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Shawnee Mission Northwest, they pushed their record up to 13-3 with the win, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shawnee Mission West will take on Mill Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Shawnee Mission Northwest, they will face off against Olathe West at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
