Basketball Recap: Minisink Valley Comes Up Short

Minisink Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. The contest between them and the Washingtonville Wizards didn't end well, with the Minisink Valley Warriors falling 60-44. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 739th, while the Wizards are ranked 252nd).

Malachi Taylor was nothing short of spectacular for Washingtonville: he went 6 for 10 en route to 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Aidan Sullivan, who posted six points along with seven assists and six boards.

Minisink Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Washingtonville, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.

Minisink Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 54-47 defeat against Monroe-Woodbury on the 17th. As for Washingtonville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 52-51 win against Middletown on the 17th.
