Preview: Apalachee Wildcats vs. M.L. King Lions
The Apalachee Wildcats will be home for the holidays to greet the M.L. King Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, Apalachee sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 52-49 victory over Discovery.
Meanwhile, M.L. King waltzed into their match Tuesday with four straight wins but they left with five. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, they made off with a 44-43 victory over Lithonia. Despite the win, that was the fewest points M.L. King has scored all year.
Kennedy Ruzvidzo jr. was his usual excellent self, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and five steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of M.L. King's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Bowers, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Apalachee's victory bumped their record up to 3-7. As for M.L. King, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
