Laney extended their winning streak to 11 on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 15-2 in the process. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Topsail Pirates a 2-0 shutout. That's two games straight that the Buccaneers have won by exactly two runs.

Allyson Brehmer was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

Laney hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Topsail struck out nine times.

As for Topsail, they moved to 12-8 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 4, 2023, but that streak is no more.

On Topsail's side, Addison Ash spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits. Ash has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

As of now, neither Laney nor Topsail have any future games scheduled.
