Volleyball Preview: Grassfield Grizzlies vs. Hickory Hawks
Grassfield hasn't had much luck against Hickory recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Grassfield Grizzlies will square off against the Hickory Hawks at 5:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Grassfield sitting on three straight wins and Hickory on 13.
Last Tuesday, Grassfield made easy work of Great Bridge and carried off a 3-0 victory.
The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-16, 25-20.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Grassfield to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ellielynn Rock, who had seven digs and three aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryann Bothof, who had five digs and two aces.
Meanwhile, Hickory got the win against Oscar Smith on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0.
Grassfield pushed their record up to 13-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Hickory, their victory bumped their record up to 17-3.
