Softball Recap: East Bay Comes Up Short

East Bay was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lakewood Ranch Mustangs.

Molly Johnson was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Jensen Nelson, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.

East Bay's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Lakewood Ranch, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Bay will take on Freedom at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15 runs per game on average), something the Indians will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lakewood Ranch, they will challenge Palmetto at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
