Zavious Chineth Turns in Season-Best Effort

Northfield was led to victory by Zavious Chineth, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Saturday. Chineth rushed for 202 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 12.6 yards per carry, and also threw for 57 yards and a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 55 yards.

This year, Chineth has run in 8 touchdowns while averaging 141.5 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after six games last season, he had four rushing touchdowns.

Hayes Dwyer Delivers Best Performance of Season

George Washington was led to victory by Hayes Dwyer, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Saturday. Dwyer rushed for 70 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, and also threw for 122 yards and a touchdown while completing 76.9% of his passes.

If the past is any indication, Dwyer could be in store for another big game when he takes on Aurora Central on Thursday. When Dwyer last faced the Trojans back in September of 2023, he threw for 247 yards and four touchdowns on only 18 passes.

Luke Cuellar's Rushing Yards a New Career-High

Luke Cuellar posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Saturday. He rushed for 84 yards and a touchdown. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making nine total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending two passes.

Thomas Jefferson is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4. They and Denver North are set to duel on Thursday.

Montbello's Losing Streak Is No More Thanks to Deion Turner

Thanks in part to Deion Turner, Montbello said goodbye to their five-game losing streak. Aurora Central had no answer to Turner on Thursday as he rushed for 69 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries. Turner also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making four total tackles and defending two passes.

Montbello's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. Turner and Montbello will be playing at home against Northfield at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Jr Felix Rounds Out Top Five

Rounding off our Top Five is Jr Felix of Aurora Central. Felix rushed for 30 yards.

Aurora Central dropped their record down to 2-4 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. They and George Washington are set to duel on Thursday.
