Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Javontae Barrie and Jack Bell Lead West Carteret to Victory + How To Watch

West Carteret's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the East Carteret Mariners with a sharp 84-59 victory. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 25 points or more this season.

West Carteret was led to victory by Jack Bell and Javontae Barrie. Bell almost dropped a triple-double with 12 points, 12 assists, and nine steals, while Barrie shot 60% from the field on his way to 16 points in addition to seven assists and four steals. Those nine steals gave Bell a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jejuan Tripp, who went 8-for-13 to rack up 18 points.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: West Carteret was working as a unit and finished the game with 28 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

East Carteret's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chase Roberson, who shot 56% from the field en route to 13 points and three steals. Eli Jenkins was another key player, putting up ten points and six rebounds.

West Carteret's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for East Carteret, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

West Carteret has already played their next contest, a 78-49 defeat against Hoggard on the 2nd. As for East Carteret, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 46-40 loss against West Craven on the 2nd.
