Diego Medina was a major factor in Lyford's victory over Progreso on Tuesday. Medina wasn't messing around, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). The pitching appearance was his third straight with seven or more strikeouts.

Looking ahead, Medina and Lyford will host Raymondville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Bearkats thanks in part to Medina: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched.
