Basketball Recap: Burlington Comes Up Short

Burlington lost against Baldwin back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Burlington Wildcats fell 56-45 to the Baldwin Bulldogs. The loss was the Wildcats' first of the season.

Cooper Carr was a one-man wrecking crew for Baldwin as he went 10 for 22 on his way to 30 points and six steals. Carr's evening made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Colton Collum was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and ten boards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Burlington fell to 2-1. As for Baldwin, their victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Burlington will take on Iola in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Baldwin and Louisburg will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Baldwin knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Louisburg likes a good challenge.
