Softball Recap: West Union Takes a Loss

West Union came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 12-2 to the Lafayette Commodores. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Eagles have suffered since April 6, 2024.

West Union now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Lafayette, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Union will face off against Tupelo at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lafayette, they will take on Clarksdale at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Clarksdale's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last five games.
