Baseball Recap: Lamar Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

If Lamar was riding high fresh off their 12-0 takedown of Liberal on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers fell just short of the Mt. Vernon Mountaineers by a score of 4-3 on Monday. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mountaineers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Lamar's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-6. As for Mt. Vernon, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-11 record this season.

Lamar has already played their next match, a 10-3 loss against Seneca on the 15th. As for Mt. Vernon, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-10 win against Purdy on the 13th.
