After having lost a blowout in their previous game against McCormick, Thornwell was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Whitmire Wolverines by a score of 64-54. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 71-61 back in January.

Despite the defeat, Whitmire saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Braylen Sartor went 9-for-18 en route to 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sartor has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kayshaun Schumpert, who posted 11 points.

Thornwell has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points over those games. Coming up, Thornwell and Ware Shoals will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday without much rest, having both just played.
