Volleyball Recap: Modoc Find Success + How To Watch

Mt. Shasta typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Modoc proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Bears by a score of 3-1. This was a revenge game for the Braves: when they faced off against the Bears back in September, they had to take a 3-1 loss.

While Modoc might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Mt. Shasta scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 26-24, 16-25, 25-19, 25-21.

Katie Erquiaga paced Modoc's offense, picking up 13 kills. Erquiaga got some help from Abigail Depaul and her two assists. Depaul was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Despite the loss, Mt. Shasta still got an impressive performance from Kaley Lanier, who had 56 digs. Lanier has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last 26 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Leighton Morley, who had 17 digs and one assist.

The win got Modoc back to even at 11-11-2. As for Mt. Shasta, with the defeat, they broke their six-match winning streak and moved their record to 16-6-2.

Modoc has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Fall River on the 21st. As for Mt. Shasta, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Etna on the 16th.
