Football Recap: Aidan Mathews and Cason Carrigan Secure Win for Eagle's Landing Christian Academy

Eagle's Landing Christian Academy's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They strolled past the Union Grove Wolverines with points to spare, taking the game 35-20. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Chargers considering their seven-point performance the matchup before.

Leading Eagle's Landing Christian Academy to victory were Cason Carrigan and Aidan Mathews. Carrigan threw for 200 yards and two TDs, while Mathews gained 123 total yards and three touchdowns. Mathews' longest rush was for an incredible 75 yards. A healthy portion of Carrigan's aerial production (148 yards to be exact) went to Cameron Matthews.

Eagle's Landing Christian Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 283 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Eagle's Landing Christian Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Legend Jenkins, Matthews, and Jaden Anthony picked up one apiece.

Despite the loss, Union Grove still got an impressive performance from Avery Wright, who rushed for 100 yards, and also picked up 31 receiving yards.

The win got Eagle's Landing Christian Academy back to even at 1-1. As for Union Grove, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
