New Brighton was the 10-0 winner over Freedom Area when they last played one another on April 1st, but their luck changed this time around. The Lions fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The match marked the Lions' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

New Brighton saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brock Budacki, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Budacki is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last eight games he's played.

This is the second loss in a row for New Brighton and nudges their season record down to 6-5. As for Freedom Area, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.

New Brighton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 16-4 win against Northgate on the 22nd. As for Freedom Area, they have also already played their next contest, an 8-7 loss against Bethlehem Center on the 22nd.
