Basketball Recap: College Station Takes a Loss

College Station was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 54-39 to the Rudder Rangers. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rangers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Rudder's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kayden Holmes, who went 7 for 14 on his way to 16 points and six rebounds. Randon Cooks was another key player, putting up nine points along with six rebounds and five assists.

College Station's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Rudder, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-8.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the College Station Cougars take on the Lake Creek Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Lake Creek's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matches. As for Rudder, they will take on Brenham at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rudder is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.1 points per game this season.
