Volleyball Recap: Thunder Ridge's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

If Thunder Ridge was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Blackfoot on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Titans fell 3-1 to the Brighton Bengals on Friday. While the Titans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bengals 25-17 in the first set.

Thunder Ridge started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 25-19, 27-25, 26-24.

Giulia Johns paced Thunder Ridge's offense, picking up eight kills. Johns got some help from Avery Kunz and her 19 assists. Kunz and Johns didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with four apiece.

Thunder Ridge moved to 4-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Brighton, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.

Coincidentally, Thunder Ridge and Brighton will both be playing Green Canyon the next time they take the court. The Titans will head out to face the Wolves at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Bengals will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
