There's no place like home for Pleasant Grove, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They blew past the Lehi Pioneers 9-3 on Friday. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matches by six runs or more this season.

Van Haynie tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Drew Smith was incredible, going 3-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Nash Bennett, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Pleasant Grove hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in eight consecutive games.

Pleasant Grove's record is now 18-4. As for Lehi, they dropped their record down to 12-10 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pleasant Grove will challenge Lone Peak at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Knights will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lehi, they will face off against Skyridge at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Pioneers are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
