Basketball Game Preview: The Cross Christian School Lions vs. Trinity Christian Academy Eagles

The Cross Christian School Lions just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Trinity Christian Academy Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

The Cross Christian School is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Maranatha Baptist Academy on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Lions were outmatched by the Warriors and fell 67-34. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-16.

Meanwhile, Trinity Christian Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against Oakwood Academy back in November, falling 67-44. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

The Cross Christian School will need to focus on slowing down Caden Herd, one of several Trinity Christian Academy players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 17 points. Herd is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Akoni Karli was another key player, putting up 13 points and three steals.

The Cross Christian School now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Trinity Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
