Softball Recap: Lake Minneola Comes Up Short

If Lake Minneola was feeling good fresh off their 15-4 takedown of Pasco last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Lake Minneola came up short against the Cornerstone Charter Academy Ducks on Tuesday, falling 11-1. The Hawks have struggled against the Ducks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Lake Minneola saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amaliz Martinez, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Lake Minneola's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Cornerstone Charter Academy, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Minneola will face off against Harmony at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lake Minneola's pitchers better be ready for this one: Harmony has averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season. As for Cornerstone Charter Academy, they will take on Winter Park at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cornerstone Charter Academy is facing Winter Park at the right time seeing as Winter Park is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
