It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Malcolm can now relate to. They fell just short of the Kearney Catholic Stars by a score of 23-20 on Friday. The Clippers' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Malcolm's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brixon Meyer, who rushed for 77 yards and one score, and also picked up 59 receiving yards and one touchdown. Gavin Little was another key signal caller, throwing for 172 yards and one TD.

A big part of Kearney Catholic's victory came down to the chemistry between Jacob Bosshamer and his top target Atreyu May. Bosshamer rushed for 33 yards and a pair of scores while May picked up 64 receiving yards and one touchdown. May didn't just play on offense: he also made four total tackles and defended two passes.

Malcolm's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Kearney Catholic, the win keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Malcolm does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Kearney Catholic, they will take on Bishop Neumann at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cavaliers' defense has only allowed 14.7 points per game this season, so the Stars' offense will have their work cut out for them.
