Recap: Plattsmouth Blue Devils vs. Auburn Bulldogs
This season hasn't been kind to the Plattsmouth Blue Devils, who are still winless after their fifth matchup. They took a hard 53-37 fall against Auburn on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Plattsmouth can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 234th, while Auburn is ranked 40th).
Plattsmouth's loss came despite strong showings from Gage Olsen and Derek Nanke. Olsen scored 18 points, while Nanke scored 6 points along with 5 rebounds. Olsen scored a full 48.6% of Plattsmouth's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Plattsmouth bumped their record down to 0-5 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Auburn, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Plattsmouth has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Ashland-Greenwood at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. Ashland-Greenwood will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Auburn, they will head out on the road to face off against Freeman on Friday.
