Southwestern Heights faced Stanton County in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Mustangs had just enough and edged out the Trojans 7-5. While the Mustangs didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Southwestern Heights' victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Stanton County, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-3.

Coming up, Southwestern Heights will welcome Spearville at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs are on a seven-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), the Lancers a four-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind. As for Stanton County, they will head out to take on Holcomb at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
