Softball Recap: Plymouth Whitemarsh Beats Mt. St. Joseph Academy for Their Third Straight Victory

Plymouth Whitemarsh entered their tilt with Mt. St. Joseph Academy on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Magic. The Colonials have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Magic, too.

Madison Moran made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Moran wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Rian Reed, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI. Those three hits gave Reed a new career-high. Anna Powel was another, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Plymouth Whitemarsh hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive matchups.

Plymouth Whitemarsh's record now sits at 13-6. As for Mt. St. Joseph Academy, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plymouth Whitemarsh will square off against Upper Dublin at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cardinals' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so the Colonials' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Mt. St. Joseph Academy, they will take on Gwynedd Mercy Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
