Softball Recap: Lakeland Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Lakeland's offense. They came up short against the Lake Gibson Braves on Thursday, falling 10-0. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Dreadnaughts' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Lakeland has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Lake Gibson, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-7.

Coming up, Lakeland will be playing in front of their home fans against Ridge Community at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Dreadnaughts are facing the Bolts at the right time seeing as the Bolts are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Lake Gibson, they are taking a road trip to take on Davenport at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
