Basketball Game Preview: Sierra Canyon Trailblazers vs. Millikan Rams

The Sierra Canyon Trailblazers will take on the Millikan Rams in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Saturday, Sierra Canyon made easy work of Coronado and carried off a 78-58 victory. The Trailblazers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Millikan waltzed into their contest on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 66-57 win over the Bruins. While the Rams didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Millikan's win came from a few key players Sierra Canyon will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Tariq Bridges, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 17 points and five assists. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Joseph Wicker was another key player, going 7 of 11 on his way to 17 points.

Millikan is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Sierra Canyon, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.
