Basketball Recap: Dobyns-Bennett Comes Up Short

Dobyns-Bennett's tournament run continued when they took on Montour on Monday. The Dobyns-Bennett Indians fell to the Montour Spartans 74-68.

Ama Tening Sow was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 20 rebounds for Montour. Sow is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 14 games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of John Batch, who posted 14 points.

Dobyns-Bennett's loss dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Montour, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1.

Dobyns-Bennett and Montour should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in their respective state rankings. Dobyns-Bennett (ranked 46th) will meet Greeneville (ranked 151st) at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Montour (ranked 20th) will meet Mars (ranked 189th) at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
