Football Recap: Wharton Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Wharton had lost five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-1 to make it six. They were beaten by the Tampa Bay Tech Titans 50-14. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 192nd, while the Titans are ranked 21st).

Although Wharton took the loss, they still got scores from Christopher Hilton and Isaiah Rodriguez.

As for Tampa Bay Tech, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 21 points this season.

Tampa Bay Tech found their leader in sophomore Kesean Smith, who rushed for 127 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Martavius Conway, who threw for 112 yards and one TD.

Wharton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 44-7 defeat against Sumner on the 5th. As for Tampa Bay Tech, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 28-7 loss against Armwood on the 5th.
