Volleyball Recap: Atlantic Shores Christian Falls to Catholic in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Atlantic Shores Christian had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 3-0 to the Catholic Crusaders on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Seahawks in their meetings with the Crusaders: they've now lost three in a row.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Catholic scored at least 20 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-20, 25-22.

Lily Vuyovich paced Atlantic Shores Christian's offense, picking up six kills. Vuyovich got some help from Bethany Ligon and her 11 assists. Vuyovich also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Jasmine Gebara, racking up four apiece.

The win got Catholic back to even at 2-2.

Coming up, Atlantic Shores Christian will host Grace Christian School at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Kings will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Seahawks surely won't give up without a fight. As for Catholic, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against TEACH Homeschool at 5:45 p.m. on September 8.
