Softball Recap: Mcbain's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

McBain can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They came out on top against the Manton Rangers by a score of 8-5. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-5 back in April.

Maddy Fancett made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Shannon Maloney, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Tessa Hughston, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

McBain's victory bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Manton, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

As of now, neither McBain nor the Rangers have any future games scheduled.
