Volleyball Recap: Acalanes Dons vs. Pittsburg Pirates
Acalanes was the 3-0 winner over Pittsburg when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Acalanes Dons fell just short of the Pittsburg Pirates by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Dons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
While Acalanes ultimately came up short, they really made Pittsburg work, particularly in the second set. The final score came out to 22-25, 28-26, 22-25, 25-18, 15-11.
Pittsburg was led to victory by Angel Lozano De La Cruz and Jessiah Ozuna. Lozano De La Cruz had 11 digs and two aces, while Ozuna had 27 digs and three assists. What's more, Lozano De La Cruz racked up 25 assists, the most he's had over his last nine matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Angel Garcia, who had 16 assists and nine digs.
