Softball Game Preview: Lucas Cubs vs. New London Wildcats

The Lucas Cubs are taking a road trip to face off against the New London Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Lucas is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Lucas' last matchup with Northmor could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Monday. The Cubs came up short against the Golden Knights, falling 19-4.

Destiny Foss made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, New London fell victim to Norwalk and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 15-0 to the Truckers. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Wildcats' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

New London saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hailee Pylant, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

Having lost for the first time this season, New London fell to 3-1. As for Lucas, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Lucas might still be hurting after the 9-0 defeat they got from New London in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Cubs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
