Basketball Game Preview: Round Rock Dragons vs. Vandegrift Vipers

The Round Rock Dragons will face off against the Vandegrift Vipers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Round Rock beat Stony Point 46-34. Given the Dragons' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 76th, while the Tigers are ranked 373rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Vandegrift came tearing into Tuesday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points) and they left with even more momentum. They breezed by the Warriors to the tune of 65-37. The Vipers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 20 points or more this season.

Vandegrift's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-7. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points per game. As for Round Rock, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 22-4.
