Softball Recap: Warren Comes Up Short

Warren extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping them down to 12-15. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Harlan Hawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-4 back in March.

Celi Flores made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Emersyn Luis, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

As for Harlan, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games.

On Harlan's side, they got a great performance from Tina Allan as she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Allan has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Savannah Cuadra, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Brooke Taulbert was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Looking ahead, Warren will host Brennan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bears have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. Harlan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
