Softball Recap: Monte Vista Mustangs vs. San Ramon Valley Wolves
Monte Vista extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 6-12 in the process. They came up short against the San Ramon Valley Wolves, falling 13-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-1 back in April.
Monte Vista saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hailey Frantz, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
As for San Ramon Valley, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-7-2. The result was nothing new for the Wolves, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.
On San Ramon Valley's side, Lila McLeod looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, Gia Ryan was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and six RBI. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Jin, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four runs.
As of now, neither Monte Vista nor San Ramon Valley have any future games scheduled.
