Football Recap: Lincoln Prep Takes a Loss

While it was Lincoln Prep who put the first points on the board on Friday, it was Globe who put up more. The Lightning took a 37-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. Despite 181 more yards than the Tigers, the Lightning couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Despite the loss, Lincoln Prep saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Connor Mewhinney picked up 131 receiving yards and two TDs. Mewhinney didn't just play on offense: he also picked up two sacks and made nine total tackles (2.5 for loss). Joshua Morris handled things on the ground, rushing for 113 yards.

Corban Bejarano had a dynamite game For Globe., rushing for 44 yards and four touchdowns. That's the most rushing yards Bejarano has posted since back in September.

Lincoln Prep has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Globe, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-4.

Lincoln Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Globe, they will face off against Benson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
