Basketball Recap: Fort Thomas Skates Past San Manuel with Ease

Fort Thomas was handed a heart-breaking three-point defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against San Manuel on Tuesday. The Fort Thomas Apaches simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the San Manuel Miners 81-35. The Apaches have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 22 points or more this season.

Fort Thomas was led to victory by Aiden Victor and Michael Olivar. Victor went 7 of 8 to rack up 19 points, while Olivar went 5 for 12 en route to 14 points and five rebounds. What's more, Victor also posted a 88% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2024. Channing Wilson was another key player, putting up 11 points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Fort Thomas smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive games.

Fort Thomas is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.4 points over those games. As for San Manuel, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.

Coming up, Fort Thomas will face off against Cicero Prep Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Cicero Prep Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Fort Thomas surely won't give up without a fight. San Manuel does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
