Volleyball Recap: Marymount Sailors vs. Sierra Canyon Trailblazers

On Thursday fans watched as two of the best teams in the nation hit the court. The Marymount Sailors took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers. The Sailors' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Marymount started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-20, 27-25, 25-20.

Lauren Lynch was a one-man wrecking crew for Sierra Canyon as she had 29 digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Madeleine Zaragoza, who had five digs and four aces.

Marymount's loss dropped their record down to 29-6. As for Sierra Canyon, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 28-3.

Marymount wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Notre Dame Academy on the 14th. Sierra Canyon has also already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Harvard-Westlake on the 14th.
