Baseball Recap: Newbury Park Finds Home Field Redemption Against Dos Pueblos

There's no place like home for Newbury Park, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They blew past the Dos Pueblos Chargers 11-4 on Wednesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Alan Espinal and Cole Munyon did most of the damage at the plate: Espinal scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4, while Munyon scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Espinal a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Davis Klinger, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-3.

Newbury Park was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dos Pueblos only posted a batting average of .231.

The victory got Newbury Park back to even at 1-1. As for Dos Pueblos, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Newbury Park didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 5-0 win against Rio Mesa on the 21st. As for Dos Pueblos, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against Moorpark on the 21st.
