Football Recap: Plainfield East Bengals vs. Romeoville Spartans
Plainfield East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 30-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Romeoville Spartans. The Bengals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.
A big part of Romeoville's win came down to the chemistry between Richard Conley and his top target Caron Johnson. Conley threw for 147 yards and a touchdown while Johnson picked up 79 receiving yards and a touchdown. What's more, Johnson also racked up five rushing yards, the most he's had since back in September.
Plainfield East's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Romeoville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.
As of now, neither Plainfield East nor Romeoville have any future games scheduled.
