Volleyball Recap: Humboldt Picks Up 12th Straight Win on the Road

Humboldt won the last time they faced Pleasanton and things went their way on Saturday too. The Cubs came out on top against the Blu-Jays by a score of 2-0.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Humboldt took both sets by at least 17 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-8.

Humboldt's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Skylar Hottenstein, who had six digs and three aces. Hottenstein is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Bailey Daniels, who had eight assists and four digs.

They weren't the only good server: Humboldt was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 12 consecutive contests.

Humboldt pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Pleasanton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7-2 record this season.

Humboldt has already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Waverly on the 20th. As for Pleasanton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Marmaton Valley on the 20th.
